Junco:
Description: Slate colored bird with slate hood and white stomach. Females are generally browner and duller with same features. Both have white/slate/white tail spread in flight. Sound: Not yet available Food Source: Juncos are generally ground feeding "cleanup under the feeder" birds, however they are also seen occasionally eating from feeder. They particularly like peanut butter feeders. Junco's will eat wild bird seed, peanut butter, bread and cracker crumbs, millet, pine nuts, suet, weed seeds, Zinnia, Cosmos, and Bachelors button. Nesting Habits: Juncos build a nest on the ground usually on a bank, under overhanging tree roots, under a rock ledge, in a clump of grass, or in the roots of a fallen tree
