photo by: Sharon Howell photo by: Sharon Howell

Description: 60"   White body, wings and neck. Orange bill with black nobby patch from top of bill to eyes.

Sound: Not yet available, anyone have one?

Food Source: They primarily feed by dabbling (not diving) in shallows for aquatic plants, small fish and other aquatic amphibians. Swans will also consume bread, and doritos :)  if fed.

Nesting Habits: Swans mate for life. Courtship involves mutual bill dipping or head-to-head posturing. Swans incubate, on average, a half-dozen pale, unmarked eggs, on a heap of vegetation, while the cob(male) keeps close guard; in some species he takes his turn at brooding. The young, called cygnets, emerge short-necked and thickly downed. Will nest in cattails and other aquatic surroundings
